once i decide on a final interior color i am going to start on a custom headliner w/ raised flames. i am going to decide on a final pattern(i already have some good thumbnails) ,then cut the pattern out of cardboard. i think i will do a large flame center piece and make mirrow images of the flame pattern on each side, this way i only have to one side . then cut the pattern out of foam. then put it on the headliner, with foam covering the whole thing already. finally spray adhesive and put on the final material, tweed or headliner material, opinions?, i am about ready to start so if anyone has done this already could you give me some tips.

yep i did it to mine, i have a tip to save ya a few bucks! get the carpet padding foam from like home depot, its like .33 cents per sq yard and it works great! easy to cut and glue! it sounds like you have it all sorted out properly. One tip, after you get yer foam cutout and glued on , spray down lots of glue on the actually flames so that the shape is well defined in yer material(tweed, whatever) then press in the tweed all around the flames first then work yer way out from there so that the material doesnt stretch and pull from the flames. good luck its really easy to do!

No sorry i dont, it would be hard to get good pics of it now that its in the truck again and the liner is black, i plan on redoing prob next spring. try it with something small first like a speaker box or just a flat peaice of wood and get the hang of it first, i was thinkin of doin a headboard for my bed using a cool tribal pattern. use yer imagination, practice makes perfect!

I have done it already on another truck. I just wanted to see what it looked like with the carpet padding. Good idea about the headboard. That would be pretty cool.
