switch box wirng

ok, a friend of mine just finised wiring up my old scool nintendo controller switch box for my bags , only thing i need is sme diodes so that i can splice the wires off for the different functions..... does anyone one know what diodes i should use?

Sorry it took me so long to see this... :D The ones I used for my flight stick controller are from Radio Shack 1kV, 2.5 A (Cat. No. 276-1114).
