i think the motor is in its final position. it took a lot of fanaggling to make sure the passenger side header cleared the firewall, frame, and transmission bellhousing. still working on the transmission crossmember. i think i'll have something on it in another few weeks. upon mocking up the transmission crossmember i found that i'll need to have the driveshaft shortened 1-1/2".

optispark, electric water pump, and ASP crank pulley installed.

i installed the core support just to mock up my aluminum radiator and check my electric puller fan clearance; i should be fine.

hydroboost, pedal assembly, and steering column installed. jeep steering shaft installed but then removed for a little paint.

working on the interior. i'm trying to do away w/ the 80s blue and go mostly black.

OLD VS NEW

i took a 4-1/2" hole saw to the front bumper. i'm going to weld some 4-1/2" pipe in those holes to house some fog lights.

going to start working on my blazer rear bumper in a bit. i cut out a bunch of filler peices for it. those holes in the bumper are what the stock trim mounts to.

Major progress lately.. looks great!
They should have added a few more of those Blazer bumper trim holes, there weren't quite enough.
Gonna fill the 6 bumper mounting bolt holes on the front one too since you have the welder out?

looking good!

Congrats, You installed an opti... you now officially have an LT1

I've always liked that look for the front bumper. Considering smoked or some sort of dark lensed lights?

Black interior is mo' betta'... can't wait to do that to mine.

oh yeah definitely. everyone who has shaved the mounting carriage bolts, please see below. i'm going to do this to the front and rear bumper.

unless someone else has a better way to do it, here's how i was going to do it:

1) seat carriage bolt
2) tack carriage bolt on backside
3) slide washer over carriage bolt
4) weld washer/carriage bolt to bumper
5) take a grinder to front of carriage bolt and carefully knock the "head" off of it
6) finish weld
7) carefully finish grind
8) bondo, primer, paint

i got some autopal 4" foglights. clear. nothing special. i'm going to go w/ HID headlights so the fogs don't need to be powerful.

i've got some more i need to do to it before i paint it (finish mods to mount radiator forward, cut hole for CAI). i might be able to get away w/ just a good cleaning, but if it doesn't shine i'll end up painting it black.

I had a pretty good finish on my core support... but the rubber seal on the hood is wearing on it... considering the low mileage on it, not entirely happy. I guess that part needed more than just spray can (didn't clear it, just used either engine paint, or duplicolor).

I'd like to see how you do the cold air intake... I want to do something with mine, but for now, just a big azz filter is working.

I mentioned the dark lights because of the black wheels... kinda wondering how "dark" you were going with the whole look.

That's how I did it and when I wrecked my truck it bent the frame rail but the bolts held.

Great work on the progress, Joe! It's slowly coming together.

What donor vehicle did you get those inner door panels from? They look a lot better than your OE ones.
