Nothing wrong with primer.
Ive been thinking of painting mine with black primer too. I already did the cab corners and rockers after I fixed them.

thats a clean lookin truck.... mine's been in primer for a couple of years... it's been hybernating in the garage for 3 years... last inspection ran out in 1/2000
![]() well, I spent some money this weekend - sandpaper, discs, masking tape, fineline tape 2quarts of paint, reducer... and a lot more... ...got busy it with the DA this weekend and laid out some flames on the left side yesterday... did a split shift today and laid out the flames on the right side this afternoon... now i'm back at work I'm trying to get it looking somewhat OK so I have inspiration to do the V8 in the spring i hope this helps inspire you.... cause this site has inspired me to get workin on it again... it's strange -my DD is a lifted Jeep TJ rockcrawler on 33s and the truck is an extended cab with a 5-6 drop.... what a difference between the 2!!!!!! btw -since I bought my ext cab about 10 years ago I've had (and sold) a 66 Chevelle, 74 Bronco and 88 4x4 blazer.... but I've always enjoyed that truck the most... (altho -I wouldn't have sold the chevelle years ago if I knew airbags were about to emerge!)

for real, i'd love for my truck to be all one color again!! last winter it was all light grey primer got hit. since then it's been a total of 6 difff colors at one time. right now my driver side is black and pass, hood, roof, cab, bed (pass) are unprimed.
question about looks. i have the chrome plastic 92 gmc grille and chrome impact bumper.. should i stay w/ that or throw on my primed bumper w/ strip holes? |
